The Art of a Servant
In my family, the past is not forgotten—it is held in our hands, cherished with the stories that accompany it.
A 100-year-old black walnut shelf that belonged to my grandfather (whom I never knew) has made its way through generations to me, still bearing the marks of lives lived around it. Recipes spanning 70 to 120 years, carefully guarded and still prepared today, carry the taste of those who came before us. Woodworking tools passed down from both of my grandfathers honor their legacy while I craft yours.
With each heirloom in hand, we lean in for the stories—living threads of continuity, proof that what is cherished endures, nourishes, and binds us across time.
During the crafting process, I pray over each family, the friendships it will strengthen, the generations yet to gather around it, the traditions it will help build, the hands that will hold it, and the strength needed for situations yet unknown. I pray that this new legacy remains alive and vibrant for those yet to be.
This journey has been incredibly humbling. One of the greatest blessings is meeting the very people I have prayed over—most often before I knew their names. Hearing their stories, witnessing their joy, and seeing how these pieces become woven into their lives is an indescribable gift.
It is an honor to create every piece that will carry meaning far beyond its craftsmanship.
With love,
